Pasadena High’s Best Buddies chapter named one of the nation’s top programs
– found at the PISD Web site
The Best Buddies chapter at Pasadena High School was presented with the Outstanding Chapter Award at Best Buddies International’s 16th Annual Student Leadership Conference recently.
Pasadena High School was chosen as one of 27 outstanding high school and college chapters from more than 800 programs throughout the world for its dedication to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships.

Though I’m not in the clubbing phase anymore, and with my current condition going out is something that just doesn’t appeal, I have a lot of friends who are always in search of something fun to do over the weekend (and sometimes on a week night… OH MY!).
To those of you looking for something to do, specifically in the music scene, I point you to HandStamp, a Houston Chronicle blog. Touted as “Your entry to the local music scene with Sara Cress and Joey Guerra,” a frequent post is the weekend picks, which highlights must-see’s, must-do’s and new entertainment venues (among other things). Definitely worth bookmarking or, as I have, adding to your RSS reader.

I’ve received the results of my MRI and it looks like my back issues are going to be long-term. I’m still wrapping my brain around it and am not ready to go into details.
Just giving notice that posting will continue to be sparse for a little while.

blogHOUSTON covers this really well, so all I’m going to do is point to them:
The Texas Education Agency has released school ratings information…
Of particular importance:
Locally, HISD maintained its Academically Acceptable rating…
[snip]
Pasadena ISD — Academically Acceptable
That covers my particular interests. Check out the post to view yours.
