To close the gap in next year’s general fund budget, Loftin has suggested that the city reduce expenditures by $6 million and increase local revenue by $4.5 million through various fee increases. This would result in a balanced general fund budget of about $73.4 million, with some extra to help maintain the fund balance at about $10 million.
