the city of Pasadena has a budget… sort of
Reported by the Pasadena Citizen, Council has place to start for budget, covers the content of the 2006-2010 budget for Pasadena:
At first glance, Pasadena’s 2006-10 budget forecast may look bleak. However, the document is intended to give the city a starting off point to plan for the future.
According to Mike Loftin, chief financial officer for the city, this recently completed document is the first of its kind in the city.

According to information in the document, if the city does not increase revenue proportional to spending, within five years it could face some difficult decisions.
However, Loftin said if the city considers obstacles, like rising health care costs versus static service fees, budget decisions can be made to curtail future problems.

Loftin said prior to the publication of this forecast, the city did not consider the long-term effects of current budget decisions, and this forecast should not only help this administration, but future administrations as well.
City councilors and the mayor will begin meeting with city staff to discuss the budget and the forecast in workshops this week. The first workshop is scheduled Tuesday following the regular city council meeting. A second workshop is scheduled for Thursday. Additional workshops may be announced the following week. All workshop meetings are open to the public.
